This book could use better editing

I am no expert on Dracula but my historical sensibilities have been offended by several serious errors in the text. Here are just two examples: on pages 9-10 Mr. Trow writes:
"...Oliver Cromwell, whose head ... may or may not have been separated from his body..."
It is a well-known fact that Cromwell's head definitely had been separated from his body, and found its lonely grave only in 1960.
On page 123 we find the following fragment about Jan Zizka:
"...he had fought for the Teutonic Order against the Poles...
Losing an eye at Tannenberg in 1410 fighting for Wenceslas..."
These two incomplete sentences contain four mistakes. First, Zizka fought FOR the Poles AGAINST the Teutonic Order. Second, he did so at the battle of Tannenberg in 1410, therefore he couldn't fight there for Wenceslas. Third, the unnamed battle from the first sentence and the battle of Tannenberg/Grunwald are one and the same event. Fourth, Zizka lost an eye in his adolescence.
In short, this book could really benefit from knowledgeable editing.

Vampirism and the Real Dracula

Although the book has several chapters about vampirism and Bram Stoker's Dracula, the remaining chapters about Vlad Tepes are very detailed and a good read. Vlad surely was one of the most cruel tyrants ever and his atrocities are described with much detail. Contemporaries wrote about the "untold abuses, sad murders and mutilations by the cruel tyrant Dracula" and the author discusses the sources and their reliability by their level of interest in blackening Vlad. According to Trow, many of Vlad Dracula's acts can be interpreted as efforts to enforce his own moral code upon his country and to strengthen and modernise the central government at the expense of the nobility, because they had repeatedly undermined the power of the Wallachia's rulers (and buried alive his elder brother).

An interesting section describes the `usual' way of impalement and the most likely way used by Vlad in the case of mass impalements or when a mother was impaled together with her baby.

For decades the prevailing models of leadership have placed a premium on what would be identified as Extroverted behavior--charisma, likeability, media appeal, promotional skills, and salesmanship. In "Introvert Revolution" Andy Johnson validates the leadership potential and contribution of introverts and recommends a model that balances the extrovert yang with the introvert ying. He helps us understand how to tap what is perhaps the most underutilized talent pool in our organizations-- the introverts. With Johnson's help, Introverts can stop "faking it until they make it" and find ways to make a difference without having to be different.

In his new book “Introvert Revolution” my friend and author Andy Johnson steps into the light of self- actualization to let the world know that he is angry and is not going to take it anymore. Worn out by a lifetime of being an introvert leader in an extroverted jungle, Andy masterfully weaves his way thru the minefield of cultural bias and societal and workplace injustice routinely experienced by “quiet” leaders. His thoughtful consideration of extensive research culminates in the compelling conclusion that the world, particularly the business community, are not getting it right on this one.
If you are one of those who have experienced the repressive force of “extro-world” then this book is for you. If you are a hard-wired extrovert then this book will provide you with an invaluable tool for living in community with your introverted family, friends and co-workers.
At the end of the day he argues that all any of us want is to be who we are. All of us want to be accepted and valued for what we contribute. As Johnson puts it--“Happiness is found in fulfilling the ultimate purpose for which we exist, our why.” He puts the world on notice that an introvert who succeeds in that makes a great leader.

Well researched, thought provoking, enjoyable read

This is genuinely the most informative, helpful, and enjoyable book on introversion I've read. Andy presents facts, data, and scientific information interspersed with historical and cultural stories, as well as personal interviews and anecdotes in this well-rounded book. Susan Cain's "Quiet" was an excellent "breakout" book on introversion, but Andy takes it to a new level in his highly thought out and well researched "Introvert Revolution." As an introvert, I learned more about temperament and its effect on work, relationships, etc. and how to understand myself and other introverts better. Additionally, Andy provides insight into tackling challenges and practical ways to thrive in the "extrovert ideal" world. I'd highly recommend this book to introverts and extroverts alike.

About the Author
Wasim Asghar is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Texas (PE), Florida (PE) and Ontario (P. Eng) with consulting experience in design, commissioning and plant engineering for leading clients in Energy, Mining and Infrastructure. He holds Bachelors of Engineering – Electrical with distinction from McMaster University (2010) and Master of Engineering – Power Systems from University of Toronto (2013) which was completed with full-time work. In 2014, he undertook a two year international assignment for a major project in Florida and also decided to pursue PE Licensure in United States. The road to licensure was challenging primarily because of a lack of useful study material for FE and PE exams. Wasim passed both exams in first attempts (FE in October 2014 and PE in April 2015). You will pass with this book, I just did

This is the best book ever for FE electrical. If you really want to pass your exam just buy this book and go through all questions at least twice. Thats what I did, I actually failed the FE exam twice and my main problem was the electrical part, I am an electrical engineer but I been out of college for so long, and forgot most of the tricks to solve problems related circuit analysis, signal processing, electronics, and so on. with this book, I took two weeks off from work, and I studied 8-10 hours a day till my exam and just got my result, PASSED. Please note this book does not include the following math, probability, ethics, economic. I really encourage the author to write a study guide for Math, Prob, ethics and economy.

Excellent Study FE Guide

I have found this book to be exactly what the title suggests. It is an excellent study guide that for me helps indentify what to expect when taking the FE exam. Of course the book is useful as a refresher for the exam material that I haven’t studied recently. But more importantly, I really like the fact that the author (having gone through the process of passing the FE exam) effectively communicates which part’s of the subject material requires more attention and which requires less. It is definitely helpful to have the guide to know what to spend your precious time focusing on.

This book is a great help in preparing for the exam.The topics are presented based on the FE Electrical Specifications.In every topic there are review of the concepts which is a big factor before solving a given problem.The strategy to solve the unknown is excellent which helps to solve quickly as possible specifically for a limited time.
